Valentino flagship boutique
Milan - Italy - 2001
The restyling for the Valentino boutique on Via Montenapoleone in Milan takes form as an example of decisive integration between architectural space and product display, emphasizing the lasting value of the trademark.
The design concept is based on the definition of a situation which engages thesenses while remaining precise and rigorous, relying for the necessary spectacularity on a limited, sophisticated materic-chromatic range that defines the architecture of the retail outlet, highlighting the decorative elements of the style of a period building, or emphasizing the terse compositional spirit of a contemporary setting. On two levels, for an overall area of 654 sq meters, with men’s and women’s products on the ground floor, and the women’s collection on the first floor, the shop makes use of architectural niches with a slender bronze border to graphically outline the fabric covering of the inner walls, while creating a long, fluid horizontal line of hanging display fixtures, the basic element of the overall concept.
