Antonio Citterio and Partners has designed various installations for B&B Italia
and Maxalto at the Salone del mobile of Milan since 1992.

The multidisciplinary vision of the firm brings together architecture, furnishings and graphics in a complete relationship based on different concepts of living, with the accent focused on the high level of design quality of the products.
The conceptual and visual distinctions come into play in the relationship between the objects and the spaces that contain them. In the case of the B&B Italia stand at the Salone del mobile ’97, for example, the architecture vanishes to focus maximum attention on the furnishings, the large images and the messages hung from the ceiling to communicate the corporate philosophy.
The approach changes for Maxalto, toward an accent on the idea of the collection and a more classic product.
Architecture and space play a leading role once again in the 2001 B&B Italia stand.
Large red boxes –reflecting the theme of the collection of containers– reach a new level of abstraction.
Architecture within architecture, the elements are spatial “mediators” between the almost urban scale of the new B&B Italia showroom in London and the products displayed for this edition of the Salone.
