Eurojersey Office building and showroom

Caronno - Italy - 1998
The initial project was to renovate the two existing office buildings, but within strict limits: the existing volume was to be preserved, retaining also the ground layout of both buildings and the load-bearing structure consisting of a framework in reinforced concrete.
Aiming at giving unity, the project gathered both buildings and the porter’s lodge under the same metal curved roofing.
The main entrance is served to the south by a metal and wood access ramp for the disabled.
In subsequent years the already existing production buildings have been progressively restyled and the curved metal roofing covering the area between the offices and the printing plant has been built.
The façade of the printing plant has been restyled too, using a style consistent with that of the northern façade of the office building.
The fourth operation was to renovate the façade to the east of the printing plant. The need to protect the plant interior from direct sunlight, while still ensuring natural light, has led to the creation – to the left of the windows – of sun screens in Serena stone offering a colour contrast with the brickwork facing of the front to create a pleasing play of light and shadow.
Two recent operations involved the east and west sides of the weaving plant, the renovation of all the building’s façades, the canteen and the new entrances to the warehouse.
